Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has once again emphasized the need to “address the root causes” of the conflict with Ukraine in any peace negotiations, an issue that now seems more tangible after kyiv accepted the US proposal for a temporary ceasefire the day before. “We insist that any approach, any attempt to move closer to resolving the Ukrainian crisis, any initiative must focus on eradicating the root causes of the conflict,” Lavrov said during a conversation with US media outlets.
